Project | Kubaho Neza
This business was started as a mushroom (ibihumyo) cooperative and has since pivoted to grow vegetables. To start, they combined community techniques and a cooperative structure by pooling a small amount of seed capital. They built a shelter to produce more mushrooms and grow communally. The business had sprouted new branches, with new structures per cooperative member. Due to a supply chain issue with the seeds for mushrooms, and local market saturation, some cooperative members pivoted to grow other vegetables.
