Peace and Love has created a wash board that makes it possible for community members to do laundry without hurting their fingers or their back, and more quickly. The washboard is made from local wood and other materials, and is easy to assemble: it can be produced rapidly with instruction.
- This business model failed because consumers preferred plastic washboards at $4. This washboard, would have sold if the pricing could get below $2, but sourcing wood of the right quality at that price proved to difficult.
Imminent Roadblocks: This business has been closed. Community Members were inspired by the prototyping and have gone on to pursue other ventures using the local material mindset.
