Sunshine Foods was an innovation set up to cook free breakfast for kindergarten students and provides a healthy and affordable lunch to all of the children at the basic school. The project works in support with one of our partner organizations, Self Help International, and corn donations from parents and local community leaders.
The project is currently feeding more than 200 school children with healthy lunch everyday and provides 3 community members working on it with some regular income.
Imminent Roadblocks: Limited incentives for the cooks and the inability of some parents to pay the little fees for the lunch.
