  • 22% of TikTok users listed staying in touch with friends as their reason for using TikTok.
  • TikTok is used by 30% of Gen Z for product research.
  • This is compared to 16% of Millennials, 9% of Gen X, and 2% of Boomers who use TikTok for product research.
  • YouTube is still the leader among all age groups for product research, though, with 59% of Gen Z.
  • Another 61% of Millennials use YouTube for product research, as well as 48% of Gen X, and 32% of Boomers.
